What we did
A vessel's steering cylinder at Port Rashid was leaking internally and responding slowly.
We stripped it down, inspected the rod, seals, valve block and chambers, renewed the worn seals, cleaned and polished the rods and checked the fittings for corrosion.
After refitting the cylinder in the engine compartment and reconnecting the lines, we bled the system to remove trapped air.
The steering was then checked during a sea trial.
