What we did
A rescue boat, davit and winch at a shipyard in Hamriyah were due their five-yearly inspection and load test.
We assessed the davit structure, winch, wires and sheaves, and stripped several mechanical parts to inspect bearings, bushings and rotating hubs.
The rescue boat was then positioned for function checks, and the cradle supports, lifting points and release gear were inspected and confirmed working.
The system then went through its load test.
