What we did
A subsea crane and its man-riding system at a yard in Abu Dhabi needed an emergency load test.
We first inspected the equipment and checked all relevant documents against the approved procedure.
The crane was tested at its rated SWL of 75 t and the man-riding hook at 1.5 t. We also verified the automatic brake, emergency lowering and slack line protection.
Both performed steadily and all safety features worked.
